The Standard ID Design Template: So you need some ID badges, you're wanting a nice looking ID badge, and will commit some time to selecting a design that is close to your needs. The Standard ID Design is a perfect choice, and you'll have many design templates to select from. Once you do, the proof process is very simple. At first, you'll email your quality logo to your ID Specialist along with the desired template. We will then build your badge template using your supplied logo, print a sample and scan to our PDF Proof form that is emailed for approval. We will provide one minor proof edit to adjust the design, if needed. Any major edits or need to create a custom design will require an upgrade to our Custom ID Design service.
We will mail a hard copy sample for final approval upon proof approval and request. If your design includes any technology options, a functional test sample is sent for testing (additional charge is automatically added to your cart/order) in each system along with a technology testing form that must be approved, signed, and returned before production of your badge order can start. After proof approval, we'll send you a spreadsheet that you will populate with your data, and attach any associated badge photo files and email to eXpress badging.
Also upon request, we can provide a Production Print Preview where we merge print your imported data and photos with the design template so you can see what all your badges look like prior to printing. This is a great chance for you to check your data and photos one last time prior to printing. One Production Print Preview edit is included, all others will incur a charge.
The Standard ID Design can not start until we receive your quality artwork and selected template design. Once received, the Proof is emailed within 2 to 3 business days. Once approved, the badges will be printed and shipped within 2 to 3 business days as the norm. We can accommodate faster turn times if you are ready to provide what is required and we have an approved rush-order ticket from our production team.
LOGO: Make sure you send a logo that when viewed is the size you want printed on the badge. If we have to enlarge or reduce the logo size, it will affect image quality. The logo will be aligned center from both vertical and horizontal edges.
BACK SIDE TEXT: We will print information on the back side in black. Information must be provided in MS Word or text format. We will get as close to formatting as possible. We will cut and paste your text into the design template. Make sure you proof it prior to sending. Requests on the Production Print Proof may result in an edit fee.
DATA: We will email you a spreadsheet that must be filled out with your data. No header columns can be edited, added, or deleted, as it will affect the import into your badge template database.
PHOTOS: If your photo files are under 10 meg in size in total, you can attach them to your spreadsheet email. Otherwise, review our Drop Box instructions.
We can add to your ID badge barcodes, encoded magnetic stripes, and most brands of RFID proximity and smart cards like eXpressPROX, HID, Indala, Xceed ID and more. An additional technology fee is required/added to the cart for each technology used. We send actual test samples along with a test sign-off sheet that must be completed, signed and returned in order to guarantee card compatibility. We highly recommend that you select our DURAbadge format for all technology cards so you will average a much longer badge life over non-DURAbadge or what we call Standard badges.
