Photo ID Systems- PVC Printers

In-House Badging Printers High Definition Printers High Volume — High Definition Printers (HDP) offer the highest print quality over conventional direct to card ID badge printers. HDP badge printers print on transfer film that is then applied to the ID card media. This makes high definition printing ideal when using proximity and contactless smart cards as they can have slight imperfections that will cause quality issues. The fact that they are cartridge load makes ribbon change hassle free.

Lamination Modules— When badge durability is a priority, using over-laminate media will extend the badge life beyond two years from image wear, fading and cracks. The investment in the lamination module and additional supplies will eliminate the need for clear pouch badge holders as they can stand up to slotting and being worn in tough environments.

Direct To Card Printers High Volume — Direct to Card printers are the most commonly used printer technology today. The top of the line direct to card printers are designed for continuous printing during peak issuance periods. Direct to card printers print directly onto the card surface and produce very high quality graphics. The top of the line direct to card printers offer speed and reliability.

Direct To Card Printers Low to Mid Volume — Low to mid volume direct to card printers are ideal for the badging program where a couple hundred badges will be issued during the beginning stages, and then used for ongoing issuance for years to come.

Card Technology Integration — Most badge printers can be enabled with magnetic stripe, RFID, smart chip and contactless smart chip encoders. The most common is the magnetic stripe encoder module. Most RFID cards are shipped pre-encoded and do not require an encoder module. If you are looking to prime, or encode, your own smart cards, then make sure the selected badge printer supports your current chip technology. All PVC card printers can print bar codes, just make sure they are printed using the K panel ribbon and then laminated so they last! We do recommend that you contact an eXpress badging specialist so you take full advantage of creating a one card environment.

Support, Warranty & Repair — Most badge printers come with extended warranties and include several years of parts, labor and shared shipping. During the first year most badge printers include an express shipped loaner program to bridge the gap while your printer is being repaired. eXpress badging will be your first point of contact for all printer related issues so you never have to contact the manufacturer. We have a high first call to resolution rate. If your printer is out of warranty and in need of repair, eXpress badging can have you up and running in a matter of 3 to 5 business days.
