Integrated Cameras — The primary goal of using badging software is to enter data, capture a photo and print a badge. Badging software is enabled with features to control photo capturing within the software; that is you control the photo capture, image adjustment (brightness and contrast) and cropping directly using the controls activated from within the badging software.
Consider a web camera for ease of use or upgrade to a digital camera that has added features that increase image quality and zoom capabilities. Tip: For higher quality photos have the person sit close enough to the camera capturing only a close up head shot.
Professional Back Drops — Back drops are used for consistancy and reduce glare when capturing photos. eXpress bading offers everal back drop solutions from felt fabics that can be fashened to the wall to professional stands. Back drops should NOT be used for color coding of any kind. A well cropped photo should display very little of the back drop and the backdrop color will change with diferent skin tones and lighting.
Printer Cleaning Kits —The secret to a long lasting printer...keep it clean! Make sure you have cleaning supplies on hand at all times. These include cleaning cards, adhesive cards, adhesive rollers, swabs, and a good old can of compressed air. Select the printer manufacturer's recomended cleaning kit or ask your eXpress badging specialist.
Slot Punch Devices — If your ID badge project requires you to slot a hundred badges or less, a simple staple style or hand slot punch is recommended. If you're a badge champion that punches many badges a day as a part of your daily duties, to prevent the dreaded carpal tunnel syndrome that comes with the hand slot punch, we suggest investing in a durable desk top model that will also allow you to punch faster and with much less effort. We know this to be true as we slot thousands of id badges on a regular basis in our outsourced badge printing department.
